2014 OPERATING HOURS
Governor's Island opens to the public May 24, 2014 seven days a week. Weekday hours are 10 AM - 6 PM. On weekends, Memorial Day and Labor Day, the Island is open from 10 AM to 7 PM
The Island will be open on July 4th from 10 AM to 6 PM and is not open for fireworks viewing.
All weekday and weekend afternoon ferries from Brooklyn and Manhattan are $2 round trip for adults. Children under 12 ride for free at all times and senior citizens' fares are half price. Morning ferries (10 AM and 11 AM) on Saturdays and Sundays are free for all. There is no surcharge for bicycles.
FERRY FROM MANHATTAN
Ferries leave from the Battery Maritime Building, on the corner of South and Whitehall Streets. Ferries leave at 10 AM, 11 AM and then every half hour. The last boat leaves at 5:30 PM.
FERRY FROM GI TO MANHATTAN
Ferries leave at 10:30 AM, and then every half hour. The last boat leaves at 7 PM.
Ferries leave from Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 6 at the foot of Atlantic Avenue beginning at 11:00 AM. Ferries run approximately every 45 minutes. The last boat leaves at 5:20 PM. The last ferry returns to Brooklyn at 7:00 PM.

Directions to the Battery Maritime Building
The Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan. The ferry terminal is accessible as follows:
1 to South Ferry Station
4, 5 to Bowling Green Station
R to Whitehall St. Station
2, 3 to Wall Street (approximately 10-minute walk to Battery Maritime Building).
M6, M9, and M15
There is no public parking at the Governors Island ferry building. There is garage parking across the street from the Battery Maritime Building for a fee.
